I will Be Home at 8 only if I Can Fit in the 5.

In this experiment, I am going to find the maximum area of a lidless box using a piece of 5*8 cardboard. I will need to cut out a square portions at the corners in order to bend the material and give the box some depth.

Using a spreadsheet I can visualize the answer. I will increment the pieces cut out by .1 inches. When I find a more suitable range, I will be more precise.

 

 

 

When the amount we were taking away from the corners became too much, the volume began to decrease. I provided a GSP page to manuever the dimensions and see the differences when the sides are changed.
